Government employees. As a government employee I might be a bit naive, but there are numerous post on this site taking shots at government employees. Is this envy or is there something deeper?

Most government employees I have contact with are courteous and helpful. The employees at the Lithia Springs Post Office (GA) are great. They are cheerful and, if you show up at 5:01, they won't slam the door in your face and say "sorry closed". When my mother was living I took her to Social Security and they were great too. I think that sometimes people either have a bad experience with one employee and they take it out on a whole class. Other people I think are a bit jealous over the fact that government employees have better benefits, retirement and more holidays than most private sector workers (they never mention that private sector workers tend to make more in wages).
Would you say that to the firefighters that went to the WTC on 9-11? The soldiers that went to Afganistan after 9-11? All government employees!
I seriously doubt that the poster was refering to any military or emergency responders.
It was my impresson the poster was refering to the various gov agencies like SS, local codes and zoning, DMV, immigration, etc......
