Politicians. At least when a prostitute gets done screwing you, you feel good inside.

Car Salesmen. To go and sell vehicles for thousands over cost to people with a smile on one's face to me isn't something I could do, much less brag about the commission they got from the sale.

It would be nice to be able to order cars direct from the factory at invoice, and have the warranty service done at certified mechanics. I own the car I bought back in 2000 largely for this reason other than buying different cars all the time is a waste of money by in large, but not always (if you can fix them)

Your poll lists several low-income positions that are utterly respectable. Are you a snob?
I agree with this sentiment. Only the top three choices out of the seven listed really belong on the list. Janitorial work is how I put myself through college and the work kept the 'freshman 15' at bay as well.

None of the above. I respect any job when the employee is giving their all for their employer.

The thread was started in September 2008.

I imagine had the thread been started about 2 or 3 years later, you would see 'Recruiter."

Given that the thread started in 2008 I am surprised that investment banker was not included.

None of them. I don't disrespect anybody who's trying to make a living, no matter what the profession. You know which "profession" I do disrespect? The bums who sit on their butts all day and collect welfare when they're perfectly capable of working.

What is wrong with recruiters exactly??? I've dealt with a few, both the low balling types and those making offers comparable to market rate. There's good and bad in each profession, and many times, the company they work for has more influence on their conduct than you probably realize.
