Should I report my employer to the Labor Department?

I have a question about credit card tipping..my customer charges their bill and leaves me a tip..here's the sketchy part..the customer takes his bill directly to the owner and the owner processes the payment so I have no idea what my customers are leaving me for tips when they pay with credit cards..doesn't my employer have to show me anything? We don't have a computer system all the checks are hand written ..I live in new york

j169m, I have never heard about the giving of the change. That is odd. They are trying to make a profit from that. Not right. The Better Businss Bureau would say something. It also seems that someone is taking a percentage of the tips. You You're right to stand up for yourself. They should show you the receipts. Hopefully you can find another job. This should just be a stepping stone to another better opportunity.
