Hi there i'm due to have an interview for a job in a hair salon as a trainee stylist anybody know if there is an rules on tattoos?
I have a 2 inch long leaf tattoo on the upside of my wrist, not underneath and I am not sure if that would make me less employable?
I also have a few bad scars on the same lower part of my arm aswell and am not sure if this could stop be being employed?
Appreciate any suggesstions please?
Thanks

it probably depends on the place you're trying to work for, I would ask them. I always ask in advance, and if showing tattoos is against the company's policy, I just wear long or 3/4 sleeve shirts.
You cant be turned down for a scar. Some places might make you wear long sleeves with a tattoo though, or may not hire at all. Did you ask them about that?

Competence, personality and honesty will be good reasons for hiring anyone. If they ask about the tattoo, smile and tell them that “it kind of grew on you”. Keep a positive attitude and let them know that you’re not going to be getting any more tattoos for a while. Seems it shouldn’t be an issue with working however many companies want to have a positive appearance and depending on the tattoo is could be a negative with some employers.
Tattoos are body art and like most art,,,, not everyone likes to see what they are looking at. Lesson learned early is avoiding any more visible tattoos where others could have an issue later in life. I can’t imagine seeing an elderly old man with a hot naked chick on his forearm. Things change when you get older and regretting what was done won’t fix it.
Thanks. But I don't regret it I love my tattoo, I'm just a little anxious about if it would be allowed. I'd get more but being a stylist is more important to me then tattoos, so now I just reflect my art onto canvas..not my body!
Thanks for the advice everyone, I will use it constructivly and hope for the best! Its a pretty one any way!
