Isn't that kind of weird? Half the people alive on Earth were born in 1983 or later. If current trends continue, by 2021, half the people on Earth will be born in 1990 or later. I just think that's kinda strange because I am only 22 years old yet I am older than something like 40 percent of the people alive already. Plus, the 80s doesn't really seem very long ago.
Most of the young people are in developing countries as the birth rates are higher than developed countries
Of course. In America, the average birth year is still 1974, in Canada, it's 1972. And if you're talking people born in America/Canada it's probably a bit higher than that even since immigrants tend to be on the younger side.
Still, it's just a little bit scary to me, that over half the people alive today didnt even EXIST in the early 80s, even though a lot of it is simply due to population explosion in Africa and the Subcontinent, many of whom might as well be living in 1883. But then again, 30 years is a long time.
