How big does a rock on the shore have to be to qualify as an island?

How big does a rock on the shore have to be to qualify as an island? Maybe there are really 178,000 or 180,000.

Does that count only islands in the sea, or also islands in lakes? And rivers?

How much bigger is island number 80897 than number 80898, which is too small to quality as an island?

The world's largest church is Canaanland, in Ota, Nigeria,, with an interior seating capacity of 50,000 and an outdoor overflow area that can accommodate 250,000. As many as a million have shown up for some services, with the faithful shuttled to the church in a fleet of 350 buses.

It has to be at least a decare (10m x 10m) and contain some complex vegetation, usually but not necessarily trees.

Thanks. That's a good arbitrary definition. Do you think that definition is uniform throughout Europe? Is the island defined at high tide or low tide? The number would probably change from year, owing to factors like beach erosion and human activity. So the number is, I presume, based on some benchmark year when islands were defined.

Does the Finland count include Market Island, shared with Sweden, the world's smallest island in two countries?

But wait -- it has no vegetation.

Jacksonville Florida is the largest city in the continental United States, spanning a total of 875 miles, with a density of only 1,100 people per square mile. Jacksonville is roughly 3/4th the size of the entire state of Rhode Island.
