There is a wide variety of places that are good for all of those categories (Global location, Local topography/scenery, Climate, History, Skyline, Dining, Entertainment, Nightlife, Live Music, People, Lifestyle, Culture, Quaintness, Architecture, Parks, Proximity to Nature etc.).
I could easily say at least 10 places for each category, but for now I will just mention 2 places for each of them. Maybe later on I will say 10 for each category.
Global Location: Vienna, Hong Kong
Local topography/scenery: Seattle, Hong Kong
Climate: Lankaran, Podgorica
Skyline: Chicago, Shanghai
Dining: Singapore, Paris
Entertainment: Paris, Hong Kong
Nightlife: Paris, Hong Kong
Live music: Stockholm, Bangkok
People: Paris, Hong Kong
Lifestyle: Paris, Seattle
Culture: Paris, Seattle
Quaintness: Grenoble, Geneva
Architecture: Paris, New York City, Shanghai (this is the only one where I’ll say 3 instead and not 2)
Citizen401. Those were lovely choices and pictures. I agree with everything except for Singapore which has a hideous beach resort (Sentosa Beach).
That last one was a tough choice for me, but I agree that some cities do have more agreeable natural landscapes nearby. I guess what impressed me most about Singapore, in this respect, is that one can literally walk from roaring rush hour traffic to dense jungle canopy within a matter of minutes.
Put simply, the direct juxtaposition of hi-tech modern metropolis with raw wildlife.

Few realise that more than half of Singapore island is actually forested/non-urban.

I wonder how many admissions their hospitals get annually for scorpion venom poisoning.

I already said 2 places for each category in the earlier post. It is now time to write up to 10 good places for each category, just to show there is wide variation and plenty of inviting, desirable, impressive options for each of those categories. It feels good to have plenty of options to choose from:
Global Location: Vienna, Hong Kong, Zurich, Shanghai, Prague, Paris, London, Bangkok, Milan, Brussels.
Local Topography/Scenery: Seattle, Hong Kong, Vancouver, Portland, Marseille, Nice, Grenoble, Zurich, Geneva, San Francisco.
