Depends on what part of America you're talking about. In the more liberal places (read: higher GDP per capita places), this kind of thing is highly diminished - if it exists at all.

Seriously though, its just a big, important and popular country that everyone likes to talk about. some are jealous, some are obsessed and some truly just can't stand us. Problem is outsiders seem to think we all love and happy with our politics. lol, even with the past election everyone thinks we're all crazy bad republicans. (yes, my past post were sarcasm)

OMG! When I was getting ready to move here two of my co-workers (at different times) ask if they have christmas here!
