So, will you be the first one to start a "Who hates East Timor?" Thread? I raptly await your post!

Really, do you think East Timor and the United States are comparable? One is the richest and most powerful country (as you all keep telling us) on the planet and the other is on the other end of the spectrum - I still don't want to live in America, you do and that's fine, sucks to be you. You folks don't do yourselves any favours in proving the 'stupid Americans' theory wrong eh?

I didn't even start this thread anyway, but sure, if someone wants to start an East Timor thread then I am happy to contribute like I have done on here.

Sure. They're both countries, no?

I suppose, that's where the comparison ends.

You think the people who post on the "World" section of City-Data are representative of the "average European" in terms of interest in other countries? I guess Europeans must be obsessed with science too because the Europeans on a science board I frequent can't stop talking about it

Ignorance. I live in Northern Ireland. I am not a poor person from the west in the 1800s. Infact, I am from a Presbyterian family.

Lol my head hurts from reading all of the posts. However, I think the stereotypes of these European posters. Yes, the chest pumping of American pride is a bit much, but it has been implanted in our society for years since we were, at once, the worlds best nation. Yes we have been declining over the last few years, but we are seeing recent economic growth of 2% and soon to be 2.2% by January. Also, I think the us is just like any ordinary first world country that happens to be more wealthy and powerful. Furthermore, the european bashing is also hypocritical since the EU isn't so perfect either since it also has just as many, if not more, flaws than the U.S.
