I must second this! I've never taken so many pictures of another city in my life. Amazing architecture, food and people. Such an amazing place... I wish I were walking the Gran Via or Paseo Del Prado right now! Of course, i'm saying this as a tourist to the place - not sure how it is really like living there once the lustre of a visit has diminished.

NYC
Paris
London
San Diego
Los Angeles
Prague (even though I wouldn't love living there)
Venice (even though I wouldn't love living there)

Melbourne
Chicago (even though I realize that there are some AWFUL ghettoes)
It was beautiful, the air was fresh, the people were cheerful and helpful, and the food was delicious and relatively cheap. Even though I don't speak any Spanish, I was able to get by with "hulk" English and on one occasion German (which makes you think about who you are talking to if you know the history of this city)...bottom line, I felt at home there and didn't want to return to my real home in the Chicago area. My next trip I hope to speak at least basic to intermediate Spanish.
Agree with what was said before. Chicago crime is overblown.
For me Chicago (obviously)
