Crossing the equator in the age of jet travel is no more interesting than crossing the Atlantic or Pacific. How many here have crossed it on foot? Now that is a still a comparatively rare experience.

Yes, on a flight from Sydney to Hong Kong on Quantas (9.5 hours flight time, roughly).
