A simple yes or no question.

Me: yes, twice: on a flight from Hong Kong to Perth, somewhere over Borneo. And again a few days later on the way back.

As best I can recall, a total of 14 times (7 over and back), half of those by air and half on the surface. Three times (each way) in South America, two in Africa, two in Asia.

Once was on an Aeroflot flight, on which each passenger got a very colorful Equator-crossing certificate, all in Russian, signed and dated by the pilot, and mine was on Christmas Day.

Lots of times, all of them in the air over Singapore , Indonesia or New Guinea, heading from Australia to an airport somewhere in East Asia.

It happens all the time in Ecuador. Just take a bus from the capital north and back. It never occurred to me to compare with directions sinks drain on each side, though. Great idea!
