What a load of total nonsense and I don't even believe that you have ever stepped foot in London.

New York is not cleaner than London, indeed New York is known for it's diet and grime, as well as it's rats.

London has a fantastic public transport system, which will be improved even further with Crossrail.

There has been a significant fall in drinking in the UK, especially among young people, and London now has more of a cafe culture, with increased pedestrianisation.

The London Southbank has just been rated the third coolest place in the world by Time Out, whilst there are so called happening places right across London.

As for 24 hour culture, there are all kinds of 24 hour amenities in London, as well as late night pubs, clubs and places to eat.

In terms of hotels, London has more five star hotels than any city on earth, and also has reasonable priced hotels, and London offers a massive choice of fantastic restaurants.

London is also one of the safest cities on earth with around 130 murders a year, which is not bad for a city of over 9 million.

In terms of being compact, Central London is very compact, and there may be green suburbs, but that doesn't make London like lots of villages, indeed NYC has some village like areas.

As for come across a lot more dark alleys and the like, it's just pure nonsense.
And, AFAIK, there have been no recent claims of sightings of alligators, crocodiles, sharks, snakes etc. in the sewers of London.

I don't think the UK climate is conducive to most reptiles or most sharks and other other such dangerous animals.
