Yes. Here in Chicago it's everywhere. Anywhere I lived in the states had them all over.

How is it possible that there is not a Forbes Magazine site ranking the ten ugliest cities, that you have to next-click through one page at a time? Isn't that what Forbes Magazine is for, to enlighten us all on the depth of their research?

Yes. But these wires are not so huge and numerous like in cities such as Bucharest and Bangkok. Bucharest has a nice architecture, but the wires make it one of the ugliest cities in Europe.

I don't see why cities of 3rd world countries were picked. Many cities in the 3rd world countries would, understandably, be 'ugly' because they don't have enough money or power to build beautiful cities. So for fairness, I will focus on 1st world cities...

Detroit (so plain looking and 'boring'):
