Thanks! I think I have rather plain voice, but good to hear.

Finnish has a large variety of "weird" sounds, as most letters and words are pronounced as written, and without them pronounciation would be rather difficult.

Finnish does have some very weird sounds, some I just can't pronounce right no matter how hard I try. I reckon Finnish people must just have weird tongues or something to get those sounds right...

I think you have to be born into it. Like listen to the man at the pizza joint or Roman Schatz or whoever. Foreigners seldom learn to prounounce Finnish fluently, so don't feel bad about it.

A Finnish woman I met once said that in her experience foreigners living in Finland just don't learn Finnish, or at least not well enough to have a meaningful conversation. How far are Finns generally willing to go to accommodate somebody who's been living in Finland for years but who can't understand the language?
