Overall, I would actually feel more safer in the U.S. than in Europe, especially since I can get a conceal carry permit and defend myself if I'm attacked or robbed. Europeans are basically defenseless against armed criminals.
How many criminals are actually armed with handguns in Europe? Not that many, I think. I believe most use knives. If you are robbed at gunpoint (a criminal pointing a gun at you), would you actually be able to get your gun out of the pocket and defend yourself?

The hitman psychopath method of dealing with robbers:
Statistics don't seem to confirm this, but indicate the opposite. The US have higher rates of robbery, theft and rape than UK, Germany, France and Italy.
Reported rapes are higher in the US, likely because women are strongly encouraged to report it and because slapping a woman on the butt gets you arrested for sexual assault. That doesn't seem to be the case in Germany, at least in Cologne. The other crimes are at higher or similar levels in Europe, according to your stats.

Really now? Really?
Ei jumalauta. You make bunny cry and simultaniously make a quadruple facepalm.
Your file shows higher robbery rates in the UK and France. Higher assault rates across much of Europe. Higher burglary rates in the UK, Switzerland, Sweden and Belgium. Higher car theft rates in many European countries.
Your narrative is false.

You were seriously implicating that women in Germany don't report sexual assault because of something that happened a year ago?
And I was originally replying to the poster who claimed that the US has lower rates of crime except murder than the major countries in Europe. No, they are higher or on a similar level.

The report shows crime rates are generally higher in the US compared to Europe except for assault. Incarceration rates are 8 - 50 higher in the US compared to European countries. Crime is deeply embedded in your society and is just a way of life probably originating from the wild west culture back then.

Its stupid to compare any other crime statistic than homicide across nations because of the vastly different ways they are reported in different countries.
The crime rate in the US is lower than most European countries, just the murder rate is higher. But when it comes to assaults, rapes, burglaries, thefts etc America is actually safer overall. The murder rate is high because of lax gun laws.
