Good match... thought about that comparison before. Big walls, waterfalls, etc. Yosemite looks more vertical, overall elevation change in a short distance appears similar. But right behind Lauterbrann valley has more impressive peaks. Jungfrau is only three miles from the valley floor (which is 400m lower in elevation than Yosemite Valley) but it is as tall as the tallest peak in Yosemite — Yosemite doesn't have as extreme elevation changes in a short distance, so Lauterbrann may look more dramatic. But the light on the cream colored rocks of Yosemite Valley is rather special, IMO.

Neither. I prefer Vøringsfossen over these two.

Yosemite is bigger and its more than the waterfalls or the walls. It has also a "roof" of rocks, lakes and giant sequoias.

Lauterbrunnen Valley. Agree with the post above. The view of the Jungfrau, Monch, and Eiger is simply breath taking. The valley has some of the best hikes I've gone on - challenging, but not exhausting. Yosemite is nice but does not match up IMHO. But then again, I'm in the U.S. and it's much easier for me to get to Yosemite, so I'd pick Lauterbrunnen given the chance.

The one in Switzerland looks far more beautiful. I don't think there is a mountain range in the US that can come close to matching the beauty of the Alps. They are just so much more steep, high with deep green valleys and snow capped jagged peaks. Most of the mountains in the US are just rounded at the top and just not as impressive looking.

Have you been to either of them? This post strikes me as very odd. Have you ever seen the Tetons, Beartooth, Cascades, Sierra Nevada, Chugach or Alaska Range? The Rockies and especially Appalachians are rounded but many mountains in the US are very rugged.

I've seen some of those mountain ranges. The Rockies around Colorado particularly uninspiring compared to the Alps. And I still believe the Alps, particularly the French Alps, are more impressive in the way they are jagged and soaring with deep green valleys compared to all the mountain ranges you listed in the US. And the Rockies by far are the largest mountain range in the US.
