Do you think they should increase? Here where I live its terrible, malls open 1 to 7, all small stores are shut and even big supermarkets are shut by 8.

Its really bad and its impossible to get things when it gets past 7. I personally think that these hours are third world, its 2015 and there alot of people who aren't even Christians so why should we be suscepted to these hours? Theres not much to do here on a Sunday, can't even go to the mall to walk about, I hate it.

I will never ever understand stores closing at 6, especially where I live when its bright to 11pm in June. Qhat are people supposed to do from 6 to 11? Thats an awful lot of time wasted when these stores could be making a revenue. I always hear of people whining about having to work on a Sunday well I have a solution, employ weekend workers!!

Also if you are a Christian you don't need to shop on the Sabbath!! I really wish the stores would open as normal, especially in the summer, night time is not 6/7/8/9pm here in july!

I hate going to the prom for a Sunday ice cream and having to pack up and leave at 6 when the sun is shining and its 25c! Its rediculous!

Well for once, I actually agree with you..

It is only big shops here that have restricted hours on Sundays - I think it is 6 hours, as most supermarkets are open 10am-4pm.

Religion should be faded out of the way our country runs, for way too long in our history it has held us back.

Nope, at least not as much as the UK. Most things are open here on Sunday. In fact the chain Chick Fil A takes a lot of slack for closing down on Thursday. Malls, which are regularly open 9-9 usually do have less hours, like 12-8. And grocery stores might be open for a couple hours less than other days. Publix, our biggest local grocery chain, closes one hour earlier on Sunday, than on Saturday. Florida Mall closes at 8 tonight, instead of their regular closing time of 9 PM

Many more businesses used to be closed on Sunday, but must states have done away with Blue Laws.
Florida is more restrictive than a lot of states though

yes, they do. I'm not religious but I'm fine with this. I'm good with people who work retail having one day a week where they get a bit of a break. It's really not that hard to make it to the grocery store by 8 instead of 9.

Well its not like that here most stores operate 1-6 so you hardly have any time to shop. Its such a waste of time even opening people lie in on a Sunday.

They need to get weekend workers.

The original purpose of Sunday closing was to assure that all employees would have the day free for worship.
