If a person wanted to move to an industrialized country where life feels peaceful and people get along well, where should one go?

Canada perhaps?
Somewhat isolated, certain areas anyway!

New Zealand also should be far away enough from the craziness.....

New Zealand and Tasmania are the first that come to mind, they are quite isolated and people are going to bring that up but the isolation is what kind of breeds that kind of atmosphere. Western Canada is also peaceful feeling but also sparse at times. No where is completely peaceful and the places that feel apart from some of the huge issues are generally that... apart(isolated in a way).

How about Easter Island? You could make a case for the rest of Australia even and other places so it's hard to say and your mindset is also huge in this situation. But it's an interesting question given the issues of today and the huge gap in beliefs and politics and such...

Default From OP: Forgot something

I forgot to note the area needs to have a good amount of people. I'd want to stay away from rural areas, so it needs to be a city or a suburban environment.

The US has some pretty isolated and peaceful areas...Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Alaska
Argentina, El Chalten, Ushuaia
Chile...most cities on the Chilean Patagonia are peaceful

France.

Or are you saying that all countries are peaceful if they did not have a terrorist incident in the past week, and that is what defines "peaceful"? Countries that are not peaceful are France, Nigeria and Mali. All the others are peaceful. Right?

Honolulu, Auckland and Perth are cities with over a million that are isolated and relatively peaceful

In the USA, the three (central-metro) cities with the lowest crime rates are rather surprising: New York, Los Angeles, and El Paso.

//www.city-data.com/forum/gener...ked-crime.html

(Those on the list lower than New York are all peripheral suburbs away from central-metro cities.)

The Vatican City is the most crime-infested country in the world. The crime rate there is actually more than one per capita, with annual crimes exceeding the entire population count. That would be equivalent to the USA having about a million crimes every day. Or a crime every day in a town with 300 people.
