Lago di Barcis is a stunning lake perched in the Southern outskirts of the Julian Alps. It takes the name from the town which sits along its shores and which makes for a striking contrast between the profile of the village made only of historical buildings and the mountains.

OK. I admit I didn't know Arashiyama till last year I visited there. I even thought the name, 嵐山, was read as Ranzan

You might know a Japanese TV drama Oshin, which used to be extremely popular in Egypt as well. And a TV show went to Egypt and interviewed 100 Egyptians back then, and only a few knew where Japan was located. Who cares Japan, I wonder

Harar
City in eastern Ethiopia where it is possible to feed hyenas by hand, wild hyenas. First started in order to stop the hyenas surrounding the city from eating livestock.

Amedeo Square is found in the middle of center, away from the bustle and hustle of Via Chiaia and Via Toledo but in the most well off residential neighbourhood of the whole city. The square started existing only in the late XIX century due to the Risanamento (a process similar to Haussmanization which interested almost the whole city) which aimed to get rid of the run down houses and alleys which littered whole areas of the city. These houses which dated back to the 15th century were replaced by Art Noveau buildings

Luneburg seems somewhere in Scandinavia more than a Canadian village. Striking place, i wonder if there are similar settlements (in terms of ambiance, architecture, ecc.) nearby
