Ryand Lochte
Gunnar Bentz

James Feigen
These guys shamed the U.S., their country, when they lied about a robbery that did not happen and to committed vandalism in a gas station.

The guys were dicks for vandalizing a bathroom and then embellishing the story but, technically, if you have an armed private security guard holding you at gunpoint and demanding money before they are allowed to leave - that's called robbery in US.
I would have had no problem if those athletes were arrested at the scene by authorities and the legal process take it's course, but I think they were the victim of a "shake-down".
Of course we don't have the need for armed security guards, or really any security guards, at gas stations in the US.

Their behavior really isn't of any shock it isn't uncommon among elite American athletes unfortunately.

Not many people in the USA are paying much attention to the Olympics it really isn't getting much coverage overall.

You are wrong.
No one steals their money, they only paid (cash) for the damage caused to gas station bathroom. They were not victim of "shake-down" as you said.
You don't have any securit guards at gas stations in the US, maybe because every one carry guns or because your gas station don't work all night (24 hours) or because has no burglars in US.
Answer me please: If a foreign did same at a gas station in US, as he would be treated?? With flowers?? With kisses??

The foreigner, as well as a citizen, should be arrested, as I noted in my first post.
They got off light - $50 US in cash as I understand it, which probably didn't pay for the damage they did but I wonder if that ended up in the security guards pockets.

Yep, "typical Americans behaving like a$$holes in a land chock full of a$$holes.

I'd prefer not to paint with such a wide brush but if that's what is going to be done, then let's apply that same rule to all nations and their people, not just Americans.

Shall we first address the host country or where to begin?

The behavior of these athletes are not in accordance with the "Olympic Ideal", no matter whether they are American, Africans, Asians, etc..
Their behavior was not "Olympic Athletes".

You are wrong, my friend.
If there is a place "full of schock *******s", is not here.
The only *******s in this shameful event, were these guys.

I agree with you. I'm saying that these clowns are not typical Americans although they do project an image internationally of their home countries and therefore should behave like an intelligent human beings.

They deserve (Lochte & friends) what they get and probably a lot more in my opinion. If were up to me, I'd permanently ban those involved from participating in the next Olympics, effectively ending their Olympic careers.
