I think the United States is becoming stronger. It is just getting started and will remain a top nation for a long time to come, probably thousands of years.
The US is as large or larger than Rome was, much larger than Egypt. How long will the US last??? Hard to say as our own internal divisions are the largest threat to our existence as a nation.
The most successful empire in history is the British Empire which the US is literally break away from. The success of the British Empire is evident in the size and power of all the Anglo sphere nations. The US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and of course the U.K. make up a huge portion of the globe and all are at the highest level of development. History will always link American power and success with its roots in the British Empire.
Have you ever compared the stock market capitalizations of the New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ to all the other stock exchanges in the world?
Check them out and see for yourself.
The US is obviously a 'top nation', probably still 'the' top nation overall, I don't think there is any real argument about that even if some other countries do better on some measures than the US does despite its huge power.
But I don't think stock market capitalization is much of a relevant factor for most people's living standards, anybody can invest in any stock market around the globe, you don't have to be a resident or citizen to benefit from that, and in some countries many of the most valuable businesses are not listed on any stock exchange anyway.
In Germany for example many very well known businesses are privately owned, they get their finance from the banking system, they create hundreds of thousands of jobs and huge profits for the owners but they don't appear on any stock market capitalization list. Likewise for state owned business, whether that is Saudi Aramco (which is looking at a listing), various huge Chinese corporations or others around the world.
Even in terms of listed stocks they are mostly owned by a very small proportion of the population

Even there, the power and reach of the British Empire didn't necessarily translate into regular British people being any better off than other developed countries without that empire. A typical working class person in Switzerland at the height of the British empire during the 1920s probably had a better life than the typical British industrial worker at the same time.
By the same measures that Egypt and Rome were considered top nations for millenia:
Wealth and influence. But also historical significance.
It was China and "southern" America (known today as Latin America)....you just have a European perspective.
Europe as a cultural backwater for many ages. Rome was a "minor' empire as was Egypt.
England and the USA are important when it comes to the rights of man. England lost it all as a result of WWI. By the end of the WWII it was a poor country.
The same can easily happen to the US. Though it has some significant geographic advantages over England.

True, just because your nation is powerful does not mean it has any better standard of living. Switzerland is a first world nation and so is Britain. Both nations have a similar standard of living today and likely back then. The US is the most powerful nation on earth with a huge economy. However people here in the US don’t have it any better than other advanced nations. Many statistics show multiple countries living better than we do. Really though is you live in a first world nation you should be very thankful for that whether it is in Europe, North America or the Pacific rim in Asia.

Have you checked out life expectancy, infant mortality, personal debt, and our atrocious social mobility which just 30 years ago was the best in the word but now lags behind every other developed nation in the world?
We do have a s- ton of money in this country. but only one in a hundred come anywhere close to enjoying the fruits of that awsome stock market.
I love this country, but it is really squandering its potential to the detriment of the common working man and woman.

If this happens, will the world accept it?
I don't see this happening but I guess anything is possible.
