I don't claim Japan or Taiwan or South Korea to be part of the West. I think Singapore, and to a much lesser extent Malaysia, is an odd one that's arguable.

Singapore's basic language of instruction and government is and has been English, and its legal code and government structure uses English civil law and the Westminster system as its basis. The curriculum of public education also stems from the English education system of its time.

For a while, the home languages of the different ethnolinguistic groups of Singapore prevailed in a lot of day to day activities, but the last few generations of children often had very incomplete language transmission especially as intermarriage rates have been high and this includes intermarriage rates of people from different Chinese communities which in turn meant English became the household language for a large portion of the population. This is also reflected in the pop culture and media consumption and output in Singapore.

I also don't understand the non-Slavic and non-Balkan part of this as the question was about the West rather than Western European as these are not the same terms.

So are we in Australia heading toward being non-Western because the major religion is now no religion?

Wokeism is the new religion in the west. Wokeism has replaced Christianity in the west.

That is true. LOL

Christianity is dead or close to dead in the west, especially among younger people.

Science and money have essentially killed religion.

Singapore is an authoritarian regime and Singaporeans *prefer* authoritarianism to democracy. Culturally there's almost nothing Western about Singapore. Materialism is not Western.

Given the amount of poor, uneducated people that are flooding into western countries right now, the West as we know it may no longer exist decades from now.

Maybe the problem of global wealth inequality will finally be solved by making everybody the same the world over, at least in a geographical sense.

But more likely, East Asia will reign supreme once again if current trends continue.

The educated, wealthy immigrants are even more of a threat to the west. They are fiercely loyal to their ancient cultures and even sometimes to certain political parties from thier homelands. They often despise the west. They also have the poltical savy and know how to push change in their favour.

Despite what people think or are told, poor immigrants are more likely to adapt, conform, join the militaries of the countries they are going to. If war broke out it would be the poor immigrants that would fight for you. This is what statistics show. They also don't have the political power or the savy to push things in their favor. The exception to this are Muslims.

Either way yes, the west appears to be doomed. Not because of immigrants exactly but because the west has given up on itself.

Even now, the United States economy is larger than that of all of the other countries in the western hemisphere combined. So, there is quite a long way to go for the United States to decline.

Maybe importing tens of millions of lower-class people from Third World countries into western countries is part of some grand plan that none of us understands. Who knows?

To me "The West" grew out of Western Europe, which includes the former First World colonies like the US, Canada, and Australia. I don't consider Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Serbia, Bosnia etc to be part of the West. My definition of the West is a combination of cultural, religious, political, and economic criteria that must ALL be met, that's just how I personally see it. I'm from the USA.
