No you need to get out more. "Italians" who are the offspring of African immigrant parents are not really Italian in the ethnic sense. If my mother was vacationing in Japan when she gave birth to me, I would technically be "Japanese" but not in the ethnic sense because White people can not be ethnically Japanese, just like Black people can not be ethnically Italian.

Actually, you wouldn't be technically be Japanese, as there is no birthright citizenship in Japan. There are people who were born and raised in Japan whose parents and grandparents were born and raised in Japan who are still not citizens of Japan.
Anyway, I was referring to southern Italians/Sicillians whose skin color is dark. I'm sure they are mixed with African, but it's a mixture that occurred hundreds of years ago, not due to recent migration from, say, Ghana.

Sicilians are not mixed with Africans. Sicilians have Greek genes because they were part of the Greek Kingdom.
My wife is Sicilian (born in Caracas to Sicilian Immigrants) and she is pale skinned (paler than Jennifer Aniston who is Greek real surname "Anastasakis"), has gorgeous brown eyes, a Greek nose, a symmetric face, tall (174 cms), with long delicate arms, and gorgeous long legs.
There are blond Sicilians too. No Sicilians look like North Africans.
Even Southern Italians look light years paler skinned (and more Symmetric) than those multiracials of MTV Jersey Shores.
EU nationalities are granted by blood right.
If 2 Non-Italians have a child in the heart of Rome, that child wont be able to acquire the Italian Nationality. On the other hand, if you are born outside Italy to Italian immigrants, you can acquire the Italian Citizenship through bloodright.
That's how Europeans preserve their ethnicity.

Not everybody on The Jersey Shore is Multiracial. The Situation is 100% Italian and Angelina is 100% Polish. Some people of 100% European descent do get dark tans, not all of them burn like a red headed ginger.
Who cares about races or ethncitites? Finally, we are all humans!
