TY ncg...haven't really painted in awhile..Not enough time set aside for something that I really do enjoy. I plan on doing more during the winter months when real estate slows down, even further Thank you again for the compliment. I appreciate it very much.

And I read every word of your writings...now there is a talent you have...Are you published? Have any of your writings been set to music? Quite a few on here with talent of one kind or another it seems.

Thank you NV. No, I am not published. It is my intention to try though. I guess I'm like everybody else, I never believe my work is good enough for publication. I have thought about trying to find a niche writing country music, but I don't know we'll see. I did send one of my works to a literary agent and they have expressed interest in seeing more, but I haven't acted on it yet, because they want to discuss the manuscript and the story isn't finished. I'm too busy trying to find traditional work right now so that I can get into a home of my own, maybe then I will pursue it further. I do enjoy seeing your paintings and I really hope you find time to continue.

RAINDROPS

Whenever I hear raindrops tap dancing on my roof
I know love travels distances cause I am living proof
Your loving arms around me; I can see your smile
I know you’ve come to see me for just a little while

It makes me start daydreaming and if I close my eyes
I can feel your soft kiss on my face, I can feel the ties
I can feel your heartbeat lying right here close to mine
Sweeter than a spring rose just budding on the vine

Warmth just like a fire starts creeping through my veins
Until the passion of your love is all that remains
The time and distance melt away like spring snow
How it feels to live in paradise until you have to go

I can feel your gentle fingertips sliding softly on my skin
Feel your warm breath on my neck and I’m alive again
The sweet sound of raindrops brings you here to me
Opening my captive heart like branches on a tree

Rainbows suddenly appear and go floating through the air
Adding colors to my world and I know that you are there
A wonderful surrender, a free and willing giving in
I can keep tightly in my heart until you come again

When the raindrops stop, the sun once again will shine
My love is gone away but I know that he’s still mine
I’ll just smile remembering, because I know the truth
Till I again hear raindrops tap dancing on my roof

Wow, Country...I really like that one...I'm conjuring up memories of past loves...sigh...it takes me to a different place and time....

And Northwoods, I'm impressed too...those two you posted are very good...Country's right, you should continue to pursue it!

And thanks to all who have posted encouraging words...I'm actually trying to write something now so we'll see how it goes...

Default Liberty on September 11th

This is a poem I put on Websleuths, and I happened to come across it today.
Its about the worst day that came to America........
Liberty on September 11th

This day will live forever, as the day the earth grew still.
As the sounds arose around us, like a deep and vile drill.
What kind of faith partakes the earth, with hell and terror, and flame?
Where is their sense of wisdom?
What is their sense of shame?
What moves one into anger, that would hurt with so much pain?
Who would fight a war of evil that would always be in vain?

Did God not teach us kindness?
Does he want Peace here on Earth?
Did he cry that day, as it slipped away? His hopes of mankinds worth.
What happiness is found there, standing at his open door?
When eveil came a haunting, as they flew above our shore.
So many people left us...there was honor shown and more.

And out upon the water, Miss Liberty seemed to sway, and in just one
instant, she slowly looked away.
Right then her torch went dim and dark, as she watched this evil play.
She looked at the words before her, "the tempest tossed" and prayed.
Then her head bent down, to the diluted sounds,of this horrible,
dastardly day.

The dust would settle, but the wounds are deep...our hearts are broken..... and our souls truely weep.
Do we fight to the end? Do we just say a prayer? Did hate have to travel on wings through the air?

This we know for certain. Miss liberty stand tall! Our Flag was hung,to wave once more.........on hallowed grounds endearing wall.
