Ah ha...new writings? Good to hear... TY for your comments. I have wasted way too much time and not done what I would have liked over the last few years. Had been working 12 hr shifts as a 911 dispatcher for many years...no time for 'special' projects it seemed. Maybe now?

Wink Not new:(

But another Oil from a few years ago..Farm house at dusk w/boats in lake with water level dwindling...http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb203/northwoodsvoyager/IMG_1445.jpg (broken link)may be hard to see due to the lighting... But, here it is anyway... I am terrible at water colours. You have to work too fast. I enjoy oils and pen and ink better. Can take my time and, uh hmmmm, correct mistakes as you go along

I understand NV, been there myself, but yes, definately now. I love this painting. I love the way you work with shadows and light. I have always been envious of people who can draw and paint. My daughters can but the talent seems to have skipped me. Keep em coming NV. I really enjoy seeing them.

Ok NV, beings you have had the courage to show us your work from a long time ago. Here's a poem I wrote a long time ago. My writing style has changed a little back then, but I thought I'd share it with you anyway.

Country Dreams

Shadows drift across a pale moon hanging in the sky
Stars float like minnows caught in a mason jar
An owl lets out a soulful sound slicing through the night
Fireflies drift in snake like patterns adding to the light
Feel the trembling of a lunar moth falling to meet the flame
Hear the whisper of the tall oak trees calling out my name

Body softly moving with the swaying of an old porch swing
Porch light making patterns on a golden wedding ring
Night air sweet and warm blows the hair around my face
A dream is slowly fading and reality takes its place
The arms of someone loving keeps me save and warm
My life, my heart, my reason, my shelter from the storm

Front porch and kisses, a look of love in your eyes
Heart to heart and joining, your smile, my soft sighs
A life we built together on wishes, hopes and dreams
A destiny written in the stars or so, to me, it seems
Working hard and loving hard, standing side by side
Traveling together on this wondrous winding ride

House in the country down a winding gravel road
Truck in the driveway when you’re not carrying a load
Dinner’s on the table, with a little glass of wine
Loving looks across the table making my eyes shine
Tasting sweet kisses wrapped in your arms so strong
It’s the greatest love, I know, and right where I belong

Singing me a love song picking on your old guitar
A sweet sound in my world, to me you are a star
My heart is always dancing, my head reels with the motion
The greatest gift I’ve ever known is your steadfast devotion
Everyday I love you deeper and stronger so it seems
Laughing and in love with you and living country dreams

Summering, I love that poem about 9/11...thanks for posting it.

Northwoods, your artwork is great...you really should continue it, like Country says!

And Country, I agree with Northwoods...that last poem could be set to music as I was reading it...maybe that's one you should offer up as a song there in Nashville!
