Today I like the adjective carping. (given to making and expressing unfavorable judgments about things or finding fault unnecessarily)
Also the noun whinger, which I had to look up. (heard on a Tony Robinson YouTube program about British history- he uses lots of cool British slang) Kind of like a chronically crusty old grump that always sees and feels obligated to express the negative side of things.
Today I like the word skulduggery. Unscrupulous behavior or trickery. I used to tell our children when they were young that they would get away with no skulduggery on my watch; I was UN-trick-able. (pretty sure they did in fact trick me upon occasion)
Etymologists do not know exactly where the word came from. Possibly derived from the Scottish word skuldudrie which means adultery or clandestine machinations.
