Today I like the word plush. From the French word peluche meaning a fabric with a high soft knap. DH says peluche is the name of the fabric of which stuffed animals are made. He goes on to theorize that plush came from peluche bc the first "e" is not really pronounced, so English speakers would have heard plush when hearing peluche... maybe when they met up with French trappers discussing beaver pelts back in the day. Although the use of plush started earlier than that, so maybe not.

It's kind of funny, today I saw a children's plush campfire set that I thought was cute. Might get some for Christmas presents.
