I used the word "inutile" today, and googling it, I think I'm the only poster who has ever used that word in English on C-D (it has appeared in a French phrase, where it has the same spelling and meaning). Dictionary online accepts it as an English word, but my spell check rejects it.
Most of my favorites come from those tradition-breaking young women from nearly a century ago called "flappers." I think they were the bee's knees. Yeah... those gals were the cat's meow.
