Before the recent cold snap I'd never heard the phrase "polar vortex". I don't like what it is, but the phrase itself has sort of a nice ring to it -- although "polar vortex" does remind me of some muscle you might strain after working out too much.

"Oh my God! I've pulled my polar vortex! Hand me a heat pack and some aspirin!"

I thought that was kind of a weird phrase to use. They used to be called a "cold front." Those were the days.

One often meets his destiny on the path he takes to avoid it

"One can never consent to creep when one feels an impulse to soar." - Helen Keller

"Don't underestimate the value of doing nothing, of just going along, listening to all of the things you can't hear, and not bothering." Winnie the Pooh

A few of my favorites =)
