How about pronouncing Wall-Mark (Wall-Mart), ending a sentence with a preposition, and literally hanging out?

You mean, "up with this I will not put?"

How about "Wally-Mart"? I hear that a lot. Maybe people think it's cute.

I saw a post (not on this forum) that used the word (phrase?) "full-proof." I can only hope they meant to say foolproof.

Ack! I worked at a sandwich shop while I was in university, and one of my co-workers constantly called them "sammiches." It annoyed me. Greatly.

I've never heard "Wally-Mart." When I don't use the proper name, I generally call it "Wally World." Much like I periodically call Fred Meyer "Freddy's" and Albertson's "Albie's."

I had a coworker years ago who said "K-Mark" for K-Mart. None of us could figure out why she continued to do this, especially since other coworkers tried to correct her.

There are standard English words that are correctly spelled with letters that cannot be made with a standard English typewriter keyboard. Façade, fiancée, coöperate, piñata. Even naïveté, which has two of them. What's to be done?

I hear "Wall-Mark" and "K-Mark" both, and sometimes even "Wall-Marks" and "K-Marks."

One of my personal favorites was a question from our receptionist at work, "Was you going to Wall-Marks?"

"Wally-World" and "Mickey D's" are common here, people think it is cute, or clever.
