Their descusting!

I am going to snap. How can anyone write that?If they can afford a computer or phone and they are smart enough to use it, how can they write like THAT? I'm putting on my grammar police hat, going back there and correcting it.

Yes, it is rediculous that someone could manage to make a misteak in both of the words in that sentence! ("rediculous" is another increasingly common spelling mistake)

I know. I think that's what pushed me over the edge. TWO words. I mean To werdz.

I went back and corrected him and now I feel guilty.

As long as you did not demean him as a person, IMHO, there is nothing wrong with correcting someone.
I think of it as helping them with skills necessary to obtain--and to retain--a job.

Yeh, thanks. As my aunt used to say, "If you don't tell them, they'll never learn." (and with her, no one would dare to differ!)

Every time I see alot, I correct them by giving them "rep" points and leave the name of another poster.

While perusing today's newspaper, I found the following, "creative", examples of spelling/word usage by two reporters who--presumably--should know better:

"...advertizing..."

"...struck a cord..."

"Advertize" was on a schedule that was a handout in a meeting I attended today. If I had pointed it out in front of everyone to the person who put the schedule together, I would have looked like an a-hole.

It was emailed to me so I will just correct it and proceed.

The oral tradition of the Biblical story (which is more detailed and plausible) could have existed before Gilgamesh, and someone deluded the story...
A Freudian slip, perhaps.
