Alot of people could careless about there speech and they're writing. Some times you can see too or more mistakes in one sentence.
I guess that spelling things write is an inconvience for these people. Its almost as if noone cares.

Yes, it is rediculous that someone could manage to make a misteak in both of the words in that sentence! ("rediculous" is another increasingly common spelling mistake)

As long as you did not demean him as a person, IMHO, there is nothing wrong with correcting someone.
I think of it as helping them with skills necessary to obtain--and to retain--a job.

Every time I see alot, I correct them by giving them "rep" points and leave the name of another poster.

"...struck a cord..."
"Advertize" was on a schedule that was a handout in a meeting I attended today. If I had pointed it out in front of everyone to the person who put the schedule together, I would have looked like an a-hole.
It was emailed to me so I will just correct it and proceed.
The oral tradition of the Biblical story (which is more detailed and plausible) could have existed before Gilgamesh, and someone deluded the story...
