I wonder if the person who posted that gem is planning on seeing the new film production of Fathom of the Opera.

^^^ I really felt like responding, "Can you please explain what you mean by that because it doesn't make sense" but that's just because I don't have a high opinion of that poster in the first place, and I'd just be doing it to make him look like more of an idiot than he does on his own.

One of the major differences between the A&W's is that the old ones brewed their root beer on promises.

She might have thought you were using the possessive as an example, because only a Mormon has "mothers-in-law".

Maybe a more vivid example would have been "bird-of-a-feathers".

But wait -- then why don't British driver have to learn to use rounds-about?

If you get a group of people together exchanging mother-in-law stories, would they not be talking about their collective "mothers-in-law"?

Roundabout is not hyphenated. So the plural is roundabouts. We have them in the US, too.

That just reinforces my belief that a huge percentage of the population nowadays has such faith in their own (limited) literacy that they never bother to consult a dictionary.
The result is that they essentially just make up whatever spelling comes to mind at the moment.

I think that I have a somewhat better-than-average command of the English language, but I wind up consulting one or more dictionaries on a fairly frequent basis, simply because I sometimes doubt myself. Perhaps I should just start using the fly by the seat of your pants approach to writing, rather than trying to verify that my spelling and punctuation are correct.

If I stopped consulting my dictionaries, I would prolly make a alot of misteaks, but, more then likely, noone would notice.
And, if they did notice, I wood just call them Grammer Nazis. (Witch they R!)
Those peeps should just mind there bizzness.
Its a hella sitiation wen you're best effits at writing R critter sized.
