Nobody con's a con.
Another apostrophe catastrophe!
Ugh!
On my way home from work yesterday, I noticed that a restaurant installed a huge new sign on the side of its building that says, "Buffet Sunday's Only." It's a permanent sign!

I may have said this before, but at the nearest Whole Foods store--an upscale store catering to supposedly better-educated people concerned about their health--there is a beautifully designed, manufactured sign hanging over the area where they sell herbal supplements and the like. The sign proclaims that their staff are ready to give advise to help them make healthful choices. I couldn't believe it. I tried to tell the person at the checkout counter, from where we could see this sign, and he just looked kind of confused as to what my issue might be. I meant to write a letter to the manager. I'm going that way later this week. I think I'll check to see if the sign is still there.
Don't know if this has been discussed, but the number of people who say "when worse comes to worse" drives me crazy. It's "when worse comes to worst".
Just within the past year, I came to the conclusion that a huge percentage of the population does not know about the existence of the word, "worst".
I base that opinion on daily sightings of posts (on C-D and on other forums) from people who ask something along the lines of, "What was the worse (fill in the blank) that you ever saw/ate/heard/drove/experienced?".
I know that, when I was a child, then when I was a teenager, and even later when I was a teacher, I never saw anyone substituting, "worse", for, "worst".
This particular misuse of the English language appears to be of recent vintage, and I can't figure out why so many people now make this type of mistake.

Same as everything else. They don't read, and it's all downhill from there.
Millingerer? I'm stumped this time. My deciphering skills have failed me on this one.
