Exactly!
I do make some attempts to tactfully help others to improve their pronunciation and/or poor language usage, but once I detect resistance, I cease my efforts.
At some point, it is worthwhile to just back-off and allow those folks to wallow in their own ignorance for perpetuity.
When I was a teenager I worked in a restaurant as a server. Shortly after I began working there a new menu item was added, roast beef au jus. I actually laughed out loud when I heard the manager explaining in an employee meeting that we would be featuring "Roast Beef Oh, Juice" as our special. He asked me what was so amusing, and I apologized, but then corrected his pronunciation. He became angry, said that I had only worked there for a couple of weeks and what the #$*!@ did I know??
I stood my ground, and suggested that we could look it up in a dictionary. I also mentioned that I was taking French I and was positive that I knew the correct way to pronounce au jus. He just ended the discussion by ordering everyone to pronounce the new special, "Roast Beef, Oh, Juice."
A few years ago, I mentioned about the mispronunciation of Realtor and was attacked from all sides. I KNOW they were saying it with an extra syllable, but, they insisted it was correct. There comes a time a subject may as well be dropped, which I did, although knowing they were mistaken.

I used to work with a woman who excitedly told us one day that she was driving down to Norf Carolina in order to help celebrate her mother's birfday.
That is a speech impediment. I had a brother in law that had the same speech defect, and he called my wife Roof. But he had no trouble spelling her name correctly.
