At some point, it is worthwhile to just back-off and allow those folks to wallow in their own ignorance for perpetuity.

When I was a teenager I worked in a restaurant as a server. Shortly after I began working there a new menu item was added, roast beef au jus. I actually laughed out loud when I heard the manager explaining in an employee meeting that we would be featuring "Roast Beef Oh, Juice" as our special. He asked me what was so amusing, and I apologized, but then corrected his pronunciation. He became angry, said that I had only worked there for a couple of weeks and what the #$*!@ did I know??

I stood my ground, and suggested that we could look it up in a dictionary. I also mentioned that I was taking French I and was positive that I knew the correct way to pronounce au jus. He just ended the discussion by ordering everyone to pronounce the new special, "Roast Beef, Oh, Juice."

Also, most people call all agents/brokers Realtors. Not the case, and there is NO SUCH THING as a Realtor license. Or Real A Tor license for that matter.

And those who say it do not want to know the truth.

Although not the usual phrase, a glimmer of hope", I still kind of like this little twist. It's charming actually.

burgle-la-rie

The man in the commercial may not be pronouncing burglary the way I've spelled it above, but, that's how it sounds.

Which commercial are you referring to?
This reference does not ring a bell (alarm bell or other).
