Advertisements

In Evergreen, Colorado, La Cuisine of Evergreen is currently advertising their Super Bowel Platters.

This sounds like a dish to serve somebody who has just undergone a colonoscopy.

You can see La Cuisine's advertising banner here:

It sounds like it would be a pretty crappy tasting platter. I guess they should have advertised Pu-Pu Platters instead?

That isn't annoying. The people who use break(instead of brake) in the auto forum are annoying though. They should be banned from posting in the auto forum.

Thinking about the auto forum requiring proper grammar before posting is so funny. I would suggest it be required throughout C-D, but, that would render the forum we are in as useless and that would be a tragedy!

When I see those posts, I usually respond like this:

What did you break?
I hope that it wasn't your brakes!

Sometimes I am actually successful in improving their English usage a bit while I provide some automotive expertise, but--more often than not--in their follow-up posts they are still referring to their "breaks".

When the gov't finally decided to close the schools, everyone in their brother got on the roads at the same time.
Bold added. I'm guessing they all have very accommodating brothers...

"a military scrape book from my uncle"

Is this a book of all the battles he was in?

"wouldn't touch it with a ten foot poll."

How many options would it take to get a poll that long?

The mark for this poll is over 10 feet away and you must stand behind it while I ask you the questions...

My user name is a play on names - Catherine of Aragon was Henry VIII's first wife and I have always admired her bravery and spirit. Since "back in the day" people would often spell their names differently, sometimes even in the same document, I chose the user name KathrynAragon.

If I had a dollar for every time someone thought I was referring to AragORN in the Hobbit movies, I could probably take a nice little trip down to Cancun.

I mean - pay attention. Sheeze!

Did you read The Constant Princess by Phillippa Gregory? She's not the best author out there for English historical fiction (Sharon Kay Penman has her beat by a mile) but she tells a good story and she brought Catherine to life.

I noticed the misspelled first name, (Catherine's real name was Catalina, anyway!) but I think we had that conversation already on another thread. Never heard of the Hobbit person.
