On a medical forum today:

espohagus

I assume they mean, "esophagus." So close.
Espohagus sounds like a village in Germany.

Grave accent - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"The grave accent ( ` ) (/ˈɡreɪv/ or UK /ˈɡrɑːv/)[1] is a diacritical mark used in many written languages, including Breton, Catalan, Corsican, Dutch, French, Greek (until 1982; see polytonic orthography), Italian, Macedonian, Mohawk, Norwegian, Occitan, Portuguese, Ligurian, Scottish Gaelic, Vietnamese, Welsh, Romansh and Yoruba."
Oh, now I understand. At least it didn`t come from some extinct language spoken in Middle Earth.
A case of pick and choose. You`re choice.

That just looks like a typo rather than ignorance of the spelling. Proofreading is a skill ignored by many here on CD.

He spelled it that way four times in one post. :-) Then, in yet another discussion, he spelled it that way again. Someone responded to his account of his "espohagus" issues with the well thought- out response of, "groce!"

For some reason, seeing "ice tea" (instead of "iced") and "whip cream" (instead of "whipped") annoys me much more than it should.

You are not alone!
I also find those two increasingly-common menu gaffes to be very annoying.

I think it should be changed to "ice tea" but technically both are correct.
