Didn't know where else to share this oddity, but in a college basketball tournament matrchup tonight, Connecticut is playing Cincinnati. Together, they have 25 letters in their names, but only three consonants represented: C, N and T. Both names have those consonants introduced in that order.

Surely, there are fat leftists. Michael Moore comes to mind and he is a gargantuan bore, imo. Not that political jabs belong in this forum.

Yes. LOL I knew as soon as I posted it, it was wrong, but didn't have time to change it. It was so irritating to read the other one, although I suppose when someone claims to make an effort to be pc, it doesn't count if it's politics, but it does to me.

Thanks, I even managed to change it.

Well I don't have to say it, but this is about the worst place to make that kind of stupid mistake in. It makes it look like Republicans tend to be more illiterate. Of course that's not true, we know, but it just kinda makes it look that way.

You're right, but I don't deny sometimes I am stupid; however, I've not a Republican. Not sure, but I think I'd rather make the faux pas here, than make it elsewhere and have it show up here.

Incidentally, many years ago, I heard somebody pronounce faux pas as "fox paws".

Also, I once worked for a wacky woman who...among her other pronunciation mistakes...pronounced faux pas so that it sounded something like "fwah pwah". That was the same boss who frequently reminded us to be sure to code the "ethnicicity" of our students correctly.

She also used the word "contingency" when she should have said "contingent". The most interesting part of our department meetings was the exchange of sly glances among "the peons" as the boss proceeded to slaughter the English language.
