On the other hand, perhaps "trader" was meant as a pun, since the player in question signed with another team. Not spelling the name right does not get a pass, though.

No, no coining of words. Adding ee to a word to give it such a meaning as you've used it came about long long ago from a dirty joke that made the rounds way back in the olden days. I've even heard references to it on the national news as in: the talker or the talkee or countless other combinations of the doer or the doee.

I guess the idea was to have somebody with a weird, offensive name fronting for a band with an offensive name.
