If my spellcheck program says a plural is incorrect, but the addition of an apostrophe makes it right, what am I supposed to believe? For some reason, the creator of the program made a mistake and I ignore what it says in this situation.

How about you believe what you were taught instead of relying on spell check?

How about you read what I wrote in the last sentence rather than just responding to the rhetorical
tongue-in-cheek question? Try to relax and join the fun.

At this point, I don't think that there are more than 2 people in 100 who realize that "criteria" is plural.

People have the same issue with "media."

Yeah, I missed that it was tongue in cheek. As you well know, when someone writes very poorly, they typically are also very defensive and have a whole lot of excuses as to why they write so poorly. I've heard the "spell check" excuse many times. My bad, I thought you were one of them.

I went back a few pages after your last post. I thought you were just one of those fly by posters on this thread, but I see now that you've been on here pointing things out.

So to add: I saw this on a YouTube video's comment section...

"You need to visit he'll"

He'll what? What will he do? Tell me! I hate cliff hangers!

For the sake of our society, I really hope that this person doesn't decide to "home school" his/her child.
