I'm doing some contract work for the local county in the real estate department. On their main computer system every property has the amount of anual taxes they pay. Seriously? This is the govt, don't they pay people to spell check?

The only reason I can think of to misspell the critter is to save space - if you're working with old legacy systems, that might be a concern. Especially if the headings don't ordinarily appear in any document that a taxpayer or other member of the public would ever see.

Earlier in the same thread, the same person stated that he is very fond of Veal Franchise.
In response, I asked if it is difficult to obtain one of those veal franchises, and whether they are more expensive to purchase than other restaurant franchises, but I never received a response.

Naw, some obscure reference to Canon Law - by some crypto-Roman Catholic, no doubt. Or maybe a musical reference - to Pachelbel's Canon?
Some classical music, played very loudly, can intimidate and distract. When played by beginners with no ear for music, I'm sure it could be a debilitating weapon. Is that maybe what they're referring to?
