There's a series of books I love, and the 8th book was just published, after a long 5-year wait since the last book. There are a couple deaths of primary characters in the book, and several fans (in various online locations) have posted how they "balled" during those scenes, which always makes me giggle-snort like a Beavis and Butthead fan.

It's "bawl," people. "Ball," as a verb, has a COMPLETELY different meaning. (Although I suppose we must all grieve in our own way.)

That's a good one, Niftybergin, but in this thread an explanation of what is proper is preaching to the choir.
