YES! As I come up on 52, divorced from a jerk for ten years now, I still get people telling me "It's never too late! You never know what could happen!"
there are cliches that I know I'm overusing it, and it's just a habit.
Consider "you know what". Well, maybe you don't know, coz I haven't told you.
Or even worse, "guess what". Guess what, I don't want to guess :|
You need to. As in, "You need to go to the store and pick up some orange juice." Don't you feel just a small twinge of resentment when someone climbs up on that soapbox and tells you what you need to do?
My DH does this to me all the time, only he says WE need to, when I know darned well he means I need to.
Lately, I've been hearing "everything is everything," apparently a variant of "it is what it is." And I find both varieties equally annoying.
Just recently read that somewhere. I can't remember where, but it seems to be connected to some sort of New Agey-religious thought.
