The snow doesn't worry me nearly as much as the wind does. Nearly got clipped by a semi on the interstate this afternoon...then got home to find sections of shingles blown off the house.

At least the snow will melt fast this time of year...the cost of replacing a roof, repairing your truck or losing your life is something harder to deal with.

Kristy - I think the storm you are referring to was in 1984 and it was around April 24th-- Was living here at the time and remember it well. The town was shut down for several days. Alot of livestock and wildlife were killed because of the blowing snow. I would not think no where 90% though. There were drifts of dead sheep along I-90 that were smothered in the snow drifts. Along the mountain there was a large loss of deer that had taken cover in the brush and the brush covered over in snow. I have lived here most all of my life and that is the biggest storm I can remember although last year was pretty close,

You are right my husband told me tonight it was 84 also... I was one years old then lol

I thought 90% may have been an exaggeration also... that is what he told my husband though haha...

Wow I can't imagine that though, kind of sad all the wildlife and livestock died ...

So last year's snow storm was similar? wow... I thought last year's snow storm was a normal accurance every winter in Wyoming... But I have only lived here a little over a year so far so still learning the weather patterns

Thanks for your reply, I was really curious about when and how that storm happened...

Oh gosh sorry about your roof, that is no fun at all... In the foothills of the cascades in Oregon, we had that happen to us a few times and trees down all over the place.

Were you traveling near piney creek on I90 when you almost got hit by the semi? Seems like that always happens to us when we get into bad weather going over that pass sometimes...

You are right though, the wind makes things a bit hairy...

Glad you made it home in one piece though....
