When is snow gone in Spring from eastern (non-mountainous) Wyoming? I want to do a road trip and circle up from Arizona into Utah (Arches Natl Park) and then into Wyoming and over to the South Dakota badlands. For landscape photography, so I want to be sure the snow is melted in those areas. (heading over to NM and AZ from South Carolina for the road trip, so I am not familiar with UT, WY and when snow is gone in the Spring).

Generally by mid April. That being said, early to mid May is not unheard of.

Now that you have a general idea, if you can be a little flexible on your dates, use the traffic cameras in these states to see if the landscape is starting to green up yet (if that’s what you’re after).

Have fun.

June is your best bet, if you also want some color from blooms

Late May is pretty, due to many shades of green in new growth on prairie, in meadows and trees..

If circling from SE UT (Arches), you'll need to make some choices on what you want to see in CO, UT, ID, and WY on your way up. You might consider destinations that are Hot Springs, to warm up in the evenings. (Can be good for landscape photos too. (Thermopolis), It's fun to find out-of-the-way hot springs, and you won't have much congestion in the spring. I really enjoyed Juanita Hot Springs (Central CO) and I also like Hot Lava Springs, ID... so you can take your pick of routes. Mtn Passes (such as Beartooth and Trail Ridge Rd) may not be open before Memorial Day (and may still be closed after that). NE Yellowstone is my favorite for pics (and lightly visited).

As someone in your Utah thread said, it varies depending on the winter. Wyoming generally gets extremely heavy snow in April, but the high temperatures are usually above freezing, so it doesn't stay on the ground. By May there are only one or two days of snow, and even the low temperatures are usually above freezing, so it sure won't stay on the ground then. But in May there is a chance you could see snow falling, but it's not going to stay on the ground.

Wyoming and those other states have a lot of different elevations, so it depends on where. We were visiting friends in Casper WY one year in late June and got a good 3" of snow. We have also been in Yellowstone and gotten snow in mid-September. You should be prepared for snow "just in case" except in July/August.
