I am wondering...I love all the divisions but I really feel like I will get more bang for my buck if we build...

We bought land with an eye on building in 5-10 years. We bought that land the year before we moved here. When we moved we opted to buy an existing house. We'll live in this house until we are ready to build a home on the land we bought.

We bought near Sutton Road - only 1/2 an acre (which is an improvement over the .16 acre that we lived on in NoNJ and the current 1/4 acre we are on here in FM).

The process was incredibly easy - we found it through a realtor, and used a home equity loan to buy the land. When we sold our NoNJ house, the loan was paid off as part of the mortgage pay-off and we now own the land outright.

MrJDaniels,

I would suggest Ft Mill, Tega Cay, Rock Hill, Clover, Lake Wylie, South Carolina, more bang for the buck as they say and now with lower taxes its even a better deal. Still a easy commute to anywhere in Uptown Charlotte, NC.

We bought a lot in Tega Cay and built - we've been in the house for a few weeks now. The purchase process was fairly simple. I'm not sure about the conversion of the construction loan, as that will happen at the end of this month. The hardest part was finding the lot we wanted, but we're very happy with what we bought.
