Hi there.... I am on my way to moving my family to the Lake Wylie area. Crowders Creek schools. Is anyone out there willing to let me know that this is a great move????? :0) We have to stay in apartments while our home is still on the market so we chose the Village at Lake Wylie. I was looking in Fort Mill school district and maybe someone will compare the two for me...?..

Thanks so much
Trish

Crowders Creek Elem. School is an EXCELLENT school. Just fabulous. In Fort Mill, Riverview and Fort Mill Elem. Schools are both very good as well. So either way you would be in good shape.

If you need a realtor in that area to show you around (once you are ready to shop for a permanent home), PM me and I'm happy to give you a referral to a realtor who can help you.

Good luck on the sale of your house, and welcome to the area!

Both Clover and Fort Mill have EXCELLENT schools! Great test scores, lots of funds being pumped into educational programs, excellent growth... I think you'll be very happy with both. As far as an active family-oriented, kid-friendly area is concerned, Fort Mill is full of children playing, family activities, recreation, etc. If you need a relocation packet, PM me - it has all the helpful phone numbers, plus information of shopping, restaurants, schools, taxes, summer camps, etc. for York County - I think you'll find it very helpful! Happy moving!

My brother and his family live in that area of Lake Wylie and they really love it. They've been very satisfied with the schools and the area in general. As far as Lake Wylie's location, it's right across the Catawba River from SW Charlotte along HWY. 49. Now that HWY. 49 has been widened, the commute into Charlotte is not bad. Great area and would highly recommend. Good luck and welcome!!!
