Hi Folks,

Where did the gas go? My wife called and said that all of the local gas stations are out of gas except the BP on Hwy 160. Don't want to start a panic, but what's going on?

Love's at exit 83 has plenty and circle K at Baxter had gas yesterday. I asked a couple of the managers why they were out and they said it was not a supply issue but more an issue with the supplier. They (the station owners) were refusing to pay the inflated prices for gasoline that the suppliers were trying to charge. They felt the increase in cost was unwarranted and did not want to be seen as price gougers simply because the suppliers were trying to gouge them. Basically crude oil prices are continuing to fall, the refineries and oil rigs were not damaged to any meaningful extent, and therefor gas wholesale prices should have fallen. The suppliers however had increased prices coming into our area and many of the owners felt the best way to combat this was to stand up against them. I believe they are correct and I look forward to everyone benefiting from a decreased cost per gallon of gasoline in the future.
