Hello everyone! After several months of searching my fiance and I have settled on the Lake Wylie area. We're planning on making an offer on a home in Autumn Cove that was built by John Poore. I understand that this builder has/ is going through foreclosure. Just wondering if anyone who has bought a John Poore home can tell me how satisfied they are with their home? Also, any other residents of Autumn Cove/ Lake Wylie, I would love to hear your opinions of the area, too!
TIA!

John Poore had some land plats/homes that were on the YC foreclosure/auction deficiency site. I would be very careful about buying from this builder. You may be without a homeowners warranty. IMO, you are better off, in these rough times, staying with a builder that is still pretty solvent and as a result, be able to take care of any warranty issues with your new home, especially if there are structural issues which can be very expensive.
I am guessing that you were looking at the home on Fernledge? If you are truly curious about the builder, I would suggest leaving a note for the families residing at 307 and 309 Basswood to contact you , as well well as the home at the top of Basswood that has their mailbox on Montague, I know there have been a few craftsmanship issues, they may or may not be a major dealbreaker for you, but I believe you should check with them to hear their experiences....307 was bought in forclosure status, so they can give you an idea of what you may have to contend with in regards to things that need to be repaired.

Thank you so much for the info! I wish we'd had it a little earlier, but as it is, yes, the house we were looking at is on Fernledge. We waited almost three weeks to hear back from the bank only to hear they were declining our offer and another because of back taxes owed on the property. But, to make a long story short we ended up making an offer on a house on Hickory Mill, and we close at the end of the month! I take it you are in the neighborhood? How do you like it?
