Superior - Relocation - Boulder, Colorado

City: Boulder, CO
Category: Relocation
Address: 9 miles from Boulder

Description: If you had been struck by an unlikely urge to visit the town of Superior more than a decade ago, you would have found a tiny hamlet of small homes housing 255 souls. Today, you’re even more likely to bypass the small old town for the bright lights of a commercial strip and the broad avenues of a huge development called Rock Creek, built on land annexed by Superior in 1987 and given water rights in 1990. Rock Creek sprawls across more than 3 square miles of rolling grassland. By 2010, it could eventually include up to 8,000 homes and 15 million square feet of commercial space, extending east along US 36 all the way to the Interlocken Office Park at Broomfield and south to Highway 128. Some large homes stand beside the meticulously landscaped, wide boulevards, decorated with statuary and leading to tennis courts and a swimming pool. There are also townhomes and numerous smaller single-family homes on more modest lots. The town is still catching up with much of this growth. Until 1999, Rock Creek’s only commercial development was two gas stations. Now there are a slew of new businesses, most of them of the “mega” variety. The town hall, at 24 East Coal Creek Drive (303-499-3675), is a good information place, as are Rock Creek’s real estate offices and show houses. Superior is just south of the Superior/Louisville interchange on US 36.
